Molalla River

The Molalla River has many significant waterfalls in it's drainage.

Shotgun Creek

Shotgun Creek contains many waterfalls along its course. Its namesake Shotgun Falls is the most known falls in the drainage.

Shotgun Falls - 96 ft

Located just a short scramble off the main paved road. Its the creek right after the restrooms by the big cliff and parking area.

Double Barrel Falls - 85 ft in two tiers

This one is located right below the old road/now trail that traverses above the main shotgun falls. Beware, its a very slick scramble down to this one.

West Fork Shotgun Creek Falls - 20 ft

Located on whats now Weyerhauser land, a small but scenic spot.

Middle Shotgun Falls - 15 ft

Upper Shotgun Falls - 35 ft

This one is on Weyerhauser Land.

Unnamed Creek

What may be the best creek for waterfalls in the whole drainage, this creek doesn't even have a name. This creek contains one big waterfall after another. I'll start at the bottom of the creek and work upward.

First Falls - 180 ft

This one was a great surprise, a huge cave, with another tall tier located right above.

Fin Falls - 70 ft

The rock fin above this falls towers over the falls.

Middle Falls - 20 ft

Upper unnamed Falls - 170 ft

This beastly falls was one of the most shocking finds, as its height and huge amphitheater makes one wonder how this never had a trail.

The Molalla 5

The upper most reach of the Molala River contains a section of five consecutive falls I've dubbed the 'Molalla 5'.

Molalla #1 - 100 ft

This is one of the real crown jewels of the area. Falling 100 feet in several tiers.

Molalla #2 - 91 ft

This falls is just downstream of the falls above.

Molalla #3 - 62 ft

The third one down the same tributary.

Molalla #4 - 52 ft

The final waterfall on the same tributary up in the headwaters of the main branch of the Molalla River.

Molalla #5 - 25 ft

A side stream merges into the north side of the amphitheater of Molalla #4 with a 25 ft falls. Theres several more 20 footers in a row up this scenic side stream. This is the lowest one.

Sophia Falls - 108 ft

Located on an adjacent tributary to the one above.

Pine Creek Falls - 110 ft

Pine Creek contains atleast one very significant waterfall, Ive been told that access to this one is prohibited now.

Copperhead Creek Falls - 60 ft

A large tributary of Gawley Creek, Copperhead Creek contains atleast one significant falls along its run.

Bear Creek Falls - 40 ft

Barrier Falls - 40 ft

The Barrier Waterfall on the Molalla River is around 40ft tall, and is in the bottom of a very steep canyon. Just upstream of this falls is where Henry Creek flows into the Molalla River. The bedrock there is a must see.

Horse Creek Falls - 26 ft

Very scenic spot called the Horse Creek Narrows. It's also where Horse Creek flows into the Molalla River.

Kolo Falls - 30 ft

Right off the road. Ive seen it named this by a local waterfall enthusiast, so I'll just continue the trend.

Lost Creek Falls - 13 ft

Small, but the canyon setting it's in is worth the hike up the old closed road.
