The unit 10 assignment specification breaks down into four basic areas
1) Understand surveying terminology and be able to use the equipment and instruments typically used to perform linear surveys, record the measurements in a standard form and produce drawings. The plotting chain surveys practice worksheet should help independent learners develop their plotting skills.
2) Be able to use the equipment and instruments typically used to perform levelling surveys, record the measurements in a standard form and produce drawings. help with booking and calculating levels by HPC method (here)
3) Be able to use the equipment and instruments typically used to measure angles (theodolite), record the measurements in a standard form and produce results from calculations. The theodolite worksheet below may help independent learners familiarise themselves with electronic theodolites.
4) Be able to perform the setting out of small buildings.
